YOUR VOTE

MATTERS

Welcome to Voting Matters Ireland, an initiative to:

  • Promote the importance of voting through information and engagement.

  • Combat disinformation and misinformation about democracy, politics and political representatives.

Most of us want to live in an Ireland where everyone’s voice is heard and decision makers deliver on commitments in a fair and transparent way.

But, democratic norms are being challenged across the world. The rise of disinformation, misinformation and the breakdown in trust with the media and public representatives are among the challenges we face.

Voting and participating in elections is just one way we can all do our part to make sure that decisions taken by our government reflect the needs of the community.

If we don't vote and participate, the only ones who benefit are those who want to undermine democracy. Let’s all have our say and make sure that every vote matters.
